Weak Chin
The weak chin here is not a medical condition or a consequence of a health issue, but a cosmetic concern. It describes the chin that is less prominent on the face. The treatment for weak chin is not medically necessary, but people may be willing to treat their chin for aesthetic reasons, as it could affect their self esteem.
Symptoms
Weak chin, also known as the recessed chin, is the chin that does not have a prominent appearance on the face or jawline. People with weak chin may have their chin slope backward from the area below the mouth.
Causes
Certain genetic factors can result in the development of a weak chin. One example of this is the Treacher Collins syndrome, it affects the lower part of your jaw, which causes jaws to be further back than they should be; or the size of the chin could be relatively smaller.
Ageing is also a major factor of causing the development of a weak chin. As we age, the tissue below the jaw usually has more fat, which fills the space below the lower part of the jaw and makes the outline of the chin to be less prominent. In this case, factor of ageing such as sun exposure and smoking are also the causes of the weak chin.
