Vampire Facial (PRP)
What is Vampire Facial (PRP)?
Vampire Facial, also known as the PRP treatment, began with the Kardashians in Hollywood and has gone on to take the world by storm. It becomes the most popular skin treatment during the past few years. Though the Vampire Facial cannot make you live forever, it can certainly give you an ageless appearance which it’s the ultimate rejuvenation.
Vampire Facial uses platelet-rich plasma taken from your blood which is rich in growth factors to aid the regeneration and renewal of the skin cells. Instead of using unnatural substances, Vampire Facial use your own plasma to heal, renew and boost the production of new collagen for firmer and smoother youthful skin in a more natural way.
The technology of the Vampire Facial is used widely for clinical purposes – treating arthritis, eyes, burns, etc. The fibroblasts inside the platelet-rich plasma synthesize collagen and elastin, it can accelerate the restoration and growth of the skin to rejuvenate and tighten. It can also help with the hair loss
What does the Vampire Facial involve?
Before the treatment, you will have a full consultation with our consultant to access if you are suitable for the treatment. We will discuss your concerns and your desired results, to customise your treatment plan.
During the treatment, practitioners first take your blood and then, using a precise centrifugal technique, extract the rich plasma, and then re-injecting it back into the skin or hair. It can also be injected into the scalp to aid with balding. You may have the numbing cream applied on the treatment areas to reduce the discomfort during the treatment.
How does the Vampire Facial work?
The extracted plasma contains a variety of growth factors and proteins that can help to improve a variety of skin problems such as acne scarring, the signs of ageing, and hair loss from the inside out.
The 6 growth factors in platelet-rich plasma include:
PDGF(Platelet derived growth factor): promote collagen production, and smooth out the skin.
EGF (Epidermal growth factor): help to repair the skin cells and regrowth of the top layers of skin.
VEGF (Vascular endothelial growth factor): stimulate the renewal of vascular endothelial cells, and enhance the micro-circulation of the skin.
FGF(Fibroblast growth factor): activate the skin cells to repair faster
TGF-β (Transforming growth factor-β): Boost the renewal and regeneration of skin cell.
SDFI-alpha(Stromal cell Derived Factor): improve the immunity of the skin.
These growth factors stimulate the growth of skin cells while increasing the skin’s capacity to form more collagen and collagen fibres. Meanwhile, they can increase the skin’s metabolism to a healthy level. It also stimulates the growth of collagen and hyaluronic acids while greatly improving dry and dehydrated skin, the health of skin barrier, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, rough skin texture, etc.
