Bump on nose

The bump on the nose, also known as the hawk nose. Generally speaking, the hawk nose is not dangerous or causing unhealthy conditions to people, however there are people who feel self-conscious about their looks, as hawk nose can affect self esteem.

Symptoms

People with hawk nose have cartilage and bone irregularities on the nose. These irregularities can develop a bump in the outline of your nose instead of a straight slope from the dorsum of the nose to the tip. The primary symptom of hawk nose is pimples either inside or outside the nose. Some examples of other associated symptoms include nasal swelling, pain in the nostril, redness and/or tenderness in or around the nose, and doreign sensation.

Causes

There are people who inherit hawk nose genetically, these people are born with a tendency to develop a bump in their nose due to their noses’ structures.

From the medical perspective, severe allergies can form the bump on the nose. Painful growths can cover the sinuses and cause discomfort.

Injury or trauma to the nose can cause the formation of calcium deposits and bone growth in the injured part of the nose, which can result in a bump on the nose or make the existing hak nose more outstanding.

An infection could be the result if the hair inside your nose gets irritated, or your nose is blocked. When the nose is infected, it may swell, turn red, or be tender to the touch. It is possible for severe infections to result in a bump on the nose, which is the formation of the hawk nose.

Acne on the nose can also lead to a bump inside the nostril.
