INTRAcel RF Microneedling treatment uses the proven technology of the combination of radiofrequency, fractional treatment and microneedling to effectively treat acne and acne scarring, reducing signs of ageing, skin texture, enlarged pores and stretch marks. What to expect during INTRAcel RF Microneedling?
Before the treatment, you will have a detailed consultation with our consultant. We will discuss your concerns, access your skin vis VISIA analysis, check if you are suitable for the INTRAcel treatment and design your treatment plan. The INTRAcel RF Microneedling treatment takes around 30-60 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment areas. You will be applied a topical anaesthetic cream before the treatment to reduce any discomfort.
During the treatment, the handpiece of INTRAcel is placed over the treatment area, and then the microneedles of the handpiece will go through the treatment areas and penetrate into the skin. The radiofrequency energy will be transmitted via the insulated needles which cause collagen production. There will be several passes of the microneedling handpiece to go over the skin. You may feel mild prickling and heat during the treatment.

You will notice some improvement even after your 1st treatment. However, the results will gradually improve after a few treatments and continue to improve for up to six months. The results vary from person to person depending on the skin conditions.
To see the best result, 4-6 treatments are recommended and you can top up maintenance treatment after a course of treatment. Each treatment is spaced about 4-6 weeks apart.
Before the treatment, we will apply a topical anaesthetic cream on the treatment area for 45 to 60 minutes. During the treatment, you may feel pricking or tingling and heat across the skin when the handpiece goes over the treatment areas. This sensation could increase when there’s multiple passes are performed. However, the treatment is completely tolerant for most patients.
Yes, the treatment is safe but it must be carried out by a trained and experienced practitioner to ensure that the different areas are treated at the correct levels
There will be pinpoint bleeding immediately after the treatment. You may feel like mild sunburn sensation for first few hours. Possible redness and swelling after the treatment, usually it will disappear in 1-2 days. Some people may have bruising after the treatment and this could take longer to subside. There may be tiny scabs at the entry point of the needles, which your skin will become dry and flaky for few days. For any other possible side effects, we will discuss this with you during your consultation.
The INTRAcel RF Microneedling is suitable for most of the skin types. However, if you have the following conditions, you are not suitable for the treatment:
– Pregnancy and breastfeeding
– Keloid constitution
– Skin infection
– Bleeding disorders
– using any anticoagulant drugs
– pacemaker
– skin malignancy
– SPF 30+ sunscreen is necessary following the treatment, which it can protect the skin during the recovery phase and prevent any pigmentation.
– You should avoid makeup for at least 24-48 hours after the treatment.
– Avoid any exfoliation of the skin for two weeks after the treatment
– To keep the skin hydration, Aloe Vera gel and repairing hydration mask can be applied after 24 hours.
– You can resume washing your face as normal the next day morning.
