What IS THERMAGE FLX ?
Thermage FLX is the latest generation of skin tightening treatment which adopts radiofrequency technology to treat ageing skin such as loose skin, crepiness and rough skin. Thermage FLX is a non-surgical facelift treatment which is FDA-approved skin tightening device in which the radiofrequency delivers energy into the deep layers of the skin to boost collagen production and improve the elasticity to tighten, lift and smooth the ageing skin. It can treat multiple areas including upper and lower eyelids, full face, knees and tummy etc.
HOW DOES THE THERMAGE FLX WORK?
Our collagen and elasticity start to decrease as early as our twenties due to sun damage, unhealthy lifestyle, smoking, and lack of proper skincare. The collagen and elastin fibres which makes the skin plump and stretch, also begin to break and regrow less. These factors make the skin become loose and sagging.
Using the radiofrequency, Thermage® FLX delivers the energy to the dermis to boost collagen production, remodel and tighten the collagen and elastin fibres, continuous stimulating the renew of skin cells and collagen. By incorporating the vibration, it helps to reduce the discomfort. The Total Tip 4.0 of Thermage® FLX shorten the treatment time by 25% quicker than the CPT model, and delivers the RF energy as deep as 4.3 mm to the collagen-rich layers of the skin.
What does Thermage FLX treatment involve?
Your journey with us starts with a thorough consultation with our consultant, during which we will discuss your concerns and desired results as well as check your skin status. Thermage FLX treatment is a one-off treatment in which you only need one treatment to see the best result.
Before the treatment, we will cleanse your skin of the treatment area, and put on the guide grid marker on the area. A return pad will be attached to your lower back or stomach to prevent electrical burns. The cooling gel will be applied to the skin to help the treatment tip move smoothly and deliver the energy radiofrequency to the deep layer of the skin.
You may want to take painkillers before the treatment to reduce the discomfort during the treatment. During the treatment, you will feel the heat building up while the treatment tip goes through the treated area. Other than this, you may feel slight discomfort as the heat gets into the deep layers of skin.

Some people may see some instant lifting right after the treatment, but optimal results of Thermage® FLX are progressing in 6 months’ time as the collagen will continuously grow over time. The results can last 12 – 18 months, depending on your lifestyle and skincare routines.
Excessive sun exposure, drinking and smoking will also reduce the results.
You will only need one treatment to see the results. However, yearly treatments are recommended to maintain the result.
Everyone has a different tolerance of pain and some areas of the skin will be more sensitive such as areas are closed to the bone. The vibration of the Thermage® FLX treatment tip can help to reduce the discomfort. It doesn’t require any anaesthetic, and we cannot use any numbing creams as this can increase the risk of adverse reactions.
It depends on how big is the treatment areas. Thermage® FLX takes around 30 minutes for the eyes, and around 1 hour for the full face. Comparing to the old generation of Thermage, Thermage® FLX upgrades with a larger tip which covers larger areas to shorten the treatment time.
Thermage® FLX is suitable for all skin types, no matter you have sensitive skin or darker skin.
There may be slight redness after the treatment and it will subside after 1-2hours. Other than that, there’s minimal or no downtime.

Efficient and Long-lasting results
You only need one treatment to keep the result for up to 18 months.
– After the treatment, please wear sun protection and avoid any direct exposure to the sun. You should use sunscreen SPF30+ after the treatment.
– You may resume as normal the day after the procedure.
– After the treatment, extra moisturising is recommended to add to your skincare as your skin may feel dry after the treatment.
– Avoid using any exfoliating skincare products for two weeks after the treatment.
– For four weeks after the treatment, please avoid any ablative laser treatments, chemical peels, etc.
